What is your background?
Fine arts, performing arts, new media and digital arts as well as project management and coordinating.
How does the process work?
When you send an email, you will get a response within 48 business hours – although most are within 24 business hours. You will receive a questionnaire that will help determine what you’re looking for. From there we will set up a consultation if needed via phone or Skype. Within 24 business hours of that, you will receive a quote and contract for the project. Once signed and paid, your project begins.
The questionnaire and consultation are supremely important. They are the tools for you to express what you want and any concerns you may have. The more specific and clear you are, the better – and faster your end result will be. A strong consult session leads to a pain-free project experience.
How long will it take to make my site or design?
Depending on what is needed, expect a site to take anywhere from 2 to 16 weeks. Most websites will fall within 10-12 weeks. Graphic designs usually 2-4 weeks. Delays occur when the client is not clear on what he/she wants. We use the questionnaire and consultation to make sure we’re on the same page so please use those tools wisely.
I can go build my own site for free, why should I hire you?
You can absolutely build your own site. Sites like Wix, Weebly and Squarespace will allow free sites with limitations: you can’t have your own domain and they frequently advertise their platform on your site. In short, they don’t look pro if you go for their free option. You will still need to design your own graphics if you want to make it stand out. And although simpler to use, in theory, compared to advanced coding, they’re still not easily navigated for everyone. Choose WordPress if you can handle some basic coding and are good with graphic design (or willing to learn). If you are comfortable with the learning curve and have ample time to figure it all out, then it’s a good option. If you don’t have time, coding and digital arts are not your forte, or your site is too detailed then hand it over to someone who is. You’ll get a higher quality product in a shorter time with less stress.
How do I update my site after it’s done? What if I can’t make it work?
If you want to be able to update your site on your own, you will receive a document and video series showing you all the how/where/why’s of the back end of your site. If you get confused or lost, we’re here for follow-up support.
I hear that if you allow a web designer to register your domain then they own your domain name. Some have refused to transfer ownership to the client. Is that true? Do you do that? Who owns my site when it’s done?
This does happen sometimes. It’s unethical and shouldn’t happen. We do not keep ownership of your domain. Once your site is complete, the domain contact information will be set to your name and email. It is strongly encouraged for you to reset your password. For payment plans, the domain will not be transferred to you until the final payment is made. For payment plan information, see Payments.
Do you do any SEO stuff?
A lot of designers will claim to be experts in this field and it’s simply not true. A lot of individuals will act as experts as well, often times engaging in what is actually illegal tactics that will get your site penalized if caught. That’s not to say that all SEO consultants are rubbish. There are legitimate people out there doing great things. However, the truth of the matter is that a site can be designed for strong SEO capabilities but that’s just the beginning. It comes down to you or a hired SEO expert staying on top of it and generating good content. It’s like Twitter – there’s no secret formula. You have to be constant, specific and have something good to say. An outsourcing for SEO-based services only becomes useful when you have great content and a properly built site. All our sites are Search Engine Optimized but that’s only one step in a much bigger picture. Here’s some great articles to learn more:

How much will it cost?
Every project will be different and expect a very basic site to range from $1000-1200. A good example of basic is here. APayment plans for full build sites are available – see details below.
I don’t have a lot of money, can you work for free or at a discount?
What methods of payment do you accept?
We use the PayPal payment portal which accepts the major credit cards Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover as well as direct PayPal account payments.
Do I need a PayPal account to purchase your services?
No, you are not required to have a PayPal account however, if you already have a PayPal account, you may use it as your payment method.
Do you have payment plans?
We provide payment plans for most projects. We require a retainer and then regularly scheduled payments. Please email us for comprehensive terms of payment plans.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Auto-payments are encouraged so as not to forget your billing date. If you miss a payment, your services will freeze. If the project is in process, it will not continue and no files nor content will be given to you. If a website is completed, it will be temporarily shut down with no access by the public nor you until payment is made.
What is your refund policy?
We do not refund any services. We won’t promise anything we can’t do. The questionnaire followed by the free consultation is to help get a preliminary idea of what you want. That consultation period is your time to communicate all your thoughts about your project; how you want to be presented, any fears, any questions, anything at all. You need to feel comfortable and confident in working with us. This is your investment. Work doesn’t begin until both parties are clear on what we’re doing and an initial retainer is received. Endless hours are put into each project to generate a service for you and as such we will not offer a refund.
